Mr. Vasquez, Director of Bands
Anthony Vasquez is the Director of Bands at Wheat M.S. He has been teaching for eight years and has taught at the high school as well as the middle school levels. He previously has taught in Crowley ISD. Mr. Vasquez is a graduate of Burleson High School and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music from The University of Texas at Arlington.
He is professionally affiliated with TMEA and TBA. He resides in Cleburne and at Wheat, Mr. Vasquez is in charge of teaching beginning brass classes including: Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba. He also serves as the primary director of the Wind Ensemble. In his free time, Mr. Vasquez likes to eat Mexican food, spend time with his family, and play with his dog, Ace! |
Ms. Lum, Associate Director of Bands
Jacqueline Lum is excited to begin her teaching career at A.D. Wheat Middle School in Cleburne ISD. Her duties include teaching Flute, Clarinet, French Horn, Trumpet, Oboe, and the Symphonic Band.
Ms. Lum began her career as a long-term substitute for Acton Middle School in Granbury ISD. She assisted in their preparation for UIL contest, and taught beginner classes. She continued her career as a long-term substitute at Hughes Middle School in Burleson ISD where she assisted with their UIL, prepared her own group to perform at the North Texas Festival of Distinction, and taught beginner classes.
Ms. Lum graduated Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Arlington where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music. While at UTA, Ms. Lum spent her summers being on instructional staff at multiple schools including Legacy High School, Castleberry High School, Ranchview High School, and Burleson High School. In 2018, Ms. Lum marched Mellophone with the Oregon Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps.
Ms. Lum’s professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association and Tau Beta Sigma. She resides in Mansfield, Texas with her partner. In her spare time Ms. Lum likes to binge watch shows on Netflix, play Animal Crossing, go on long walks, and hangout with friends.
